Production method

4-(8-Chloro-5,6-diamino-11H-benzocycloheptidyl-11-ylidene)-1-methylpiperidine was dissolved in toluene, and then ethyl chloroformate was added dropwise. After the reaction is completed, water is added, and the benzene layer is separated. Then washed with water, dried and concentrated under reduced pressure to give an oil. After being impregnated with ether, it is recrystallized to obtain loratadine.


Use

It is an antihistamine drug with high selectivity to peripheral nerve H1 receptors, strong action and long time. It is a long-acting tricyclic antihistamine that competitively inhibits histamine H1 receptor and inhibits allergic symptoms caused by histamine. This drug has no significant anticholinergic and central inhibitory effects. It is used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and to alleviate the symptoms of chronic urticaria and other allergic skin diseases.
